KATHERINE Semar Junior School was treated to a talk from a war veteran in the run-up to Remembrance Day.
Peter Lawrence, who served in Korea, spoke to an assembly full of students about the importance of buying a poppy and how the Royal British Legion (RBL) helps those in the forces.
The RBL safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces.
This Sunday, troops from previous conflicts as well as soldiers from the Carver Barracks in Wimbish will parade through the High Street for Remembrance Day.
