Police were called in the early hours of this morning to reports of a burglary at Tesco petrol station in Saffron Walden.

The petrol station in Radwinter Road had been broken into at around 12.40am and a large quantity of cigarettes had been taken.

Investigations are ongoing, but police encourage anyone with information to call 101 and quote incident number 51 of 06/08.

A spokesman for Tesco said they are working hard to reopen the kiosk although it is currently closed.

Pay-at-pump is available for customers. It is not known when they expect to re-open the kiosk.
