HOUSEHOLDERS can find out the latest about new funding and the technologies available to them for improving the energy performance of their home at the fourth annual Sustainable Homes Show in Saffron Walden Town Hall on Saturday.

Technologies on display will include home insulation, solar water heating, solar electricity, heat pumps, modern wood heating, ultra-low energy lighting, thermographic surveys and much more.

As well as commercial exhibitors, visitors will be able to find out about the new grants and interest free loans from the Herts Essex Energy Partnership (HEEP) and get independent advice on saving energy and money from the Energy Saving Trust.

The show is being staged by the Sustainable Homes Network, a local community group, with the support of Uttlesford District Council and the Energy Saving Trust.

Event co-ordinator Jake Roos said: "We are very pleased that at last residents who may have been thinking about getting measures like solar panels for years but been put off by the upfront cost can now get the financial assistance they need to take action, and that we can showcase this at the show this year.

"We also have exciting new products on display so I encourage people to come along to find out more."

The event runs on Saturday October 31 from 10am to 4pm.
