TOP pro riders will be in action at the biggest skate event ever to be held at Saffron Walden's world-class One Minet Park from noon on Sunday (August 23).
The skatepark at the rear of the Lord Butler Leisure Centre on Peaslands Road has teamed up with the LCB Skate School to launch One Minet Park Jam 2009.
Free skate tuition will be available throughout the day on the park's new beginner section to help people learn to skateboard in a safe environment.
A spokesman from LCB said: "The guys at One Minet at LCB know that skateboarding can sometimes seem a bit intimidating and dangerous. But we are out to prove that anyone can enjoy this great activity with the right advice and tips.
"Thanks to the separate beginners' park at One Minet, riders can now have the confidence to skate without fear of crossing the more experienced path but with the added bonus of gaining inspiration and motivation by being right in the thick of a buzzing park.
"LCB Skate School will be providing free skate tuition on the day. This will include experienced and insured instructors offering expert advice on breaking the skate scene. The boards are waiting with all the safety equipment to get you shredding with complete confidence.
