EVENTS held at Linton vineyard over Christmas and New Year have raised £700 for a head-injury charity.

Chilford Hall vineyard and conference centre donated the cash to Headway Cambridgeshire - a charity set up to help people affected by brain injury.

Headway fundraising officer Tracey Tingey said: "The money raised at Chilford Hall will make a significant difference to our charity and the service users, families and carers it supports.

"Without support from local businesses and the local community we would not be able to continue to provide the essential services we currently offer."

Headway Cambridgeshire is celebrating its 20th anniversary and is hoping to raise a total of £20,000 through fundraising events around the region over the next 12 months.

The next fundraising event at Chilford Hall will be a black tie Valentine's gala evening on Saturday February 14.

Events co-ordinator Lisa Lloyd-Evans said: "We would like to thank our guests for their valued contributions which will make a real difference to Headway. We are delighted to be hosting the exciting Valentines gala evening in February in support of Headway and look forward to continued support from the local community."

Tickets for the Valentine's gala evening are priced at £50 per person and include a four-course meal, a disco, live band, casino, Nintendo Wii gaming room and photographer. Please call Headway on 01223 576550 for tickets or email ttheadwaycambs@btconnect.com.
