A specially-commissioned Ad-Van vehicle came to the district for the third time to publicise the countywide ‘Clean Essex’ campaign.
Uttlesford District Council cabinet member for environmental services, Cllr Susan Barker, and Leader of the council, Cllr Jim Ketteridge, caught up with the van on its way round the Uttlesford district.
Cllr Ketteridge said: “This campaign has been an excellent way for all district and borough councils in Essex to come together and say loud and clear that littering is anti-social and will not be tolerated.”
Cllr Barker said: “You cannot fail to see the message on this van as it travels around the district. I hope that it encourages people to bin their litter or to take it home with them.”
All 14 Essex local authorities are part of the eight-week campaign, as well as three fast food giants. T
he campaign runs until the end of July.
Supported by Essex County Council, RP2 media, Highways Agency and Keep Britain Tidy, the large-scale campaign has seen councils working alongside McDonald’s, Stansted Airport, KFC and Domino’s to raise awareness of litter.
