LONDON-bound commuters have been warned to expect long delays this morning (May 25) following a fatal crash that has led to the closure of one carriageway of the M25.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police are dealing with the crash involving two lorries which happened on the clockwise carriageway between the M11 and A12 junctions.

Diversions have been set up on the M11, A406 and the A12 and these are likely to remain in place until recovery and repair work is carried out on the M25.

Long delays are expected throughout West Essex as drivers seek to avoid the congested diversion routes.

A collision on the A414 at North Weald shortly after 5am today also added to the congestion. The road was closed until 7.45am while vehicles were recovered.
