KIND-hearted residents saved a Mandarin duck that had wandered into town this week
The duck was found on Tuesday afternoon and handed in to Mercer and Hughes Veterinary Surgery in Dunmow for fears he could he on the tomorrows menu.
After nobody claimed, the renamed, Little Duck staff at the veterinary surgery contacted Mountfitchet Castle in Stansted to find a home for the cream and brown duck.
With a history of taking in rescued animals, Mountfitchet Castle was delighted to accept the duck. By Wednesday afternoon he was safe and sound in the grounds of his new home.
