THE next in the series of Lunchtime Concerts at St Mary's Church in Saffron Walden is 'A Celebration of English Song'.

It will be given by Martin Oinn (bass baritone) and James Beston (piano) at 1.10pm on Wednesday June 10. There will be sandwiches on sale from 12.30pm.

Martin studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and James at the Royal Northern College of Music.

They are both local and known to many in the town; James was the Director of Music at Saffron Walden County High School from 1975 until 1983.

They will perform songs by Quilter, Vaughan-Williams, Handel, Ireland, Dibdin, Kell and Stanford.
