A NUMBER of closures are planned for the M11 near to where it joins the A11 next weekend, leading to possible delays for motorists.

The spur of the M11 that links it to the A11 will be shut from 8pm on Friday July 4 to 6am on Monday July 7. Overnight closures will also be in place throughout next week (June 30 to July 4).

A one-mile section of the M11 between Junctions 9 and 9a will also be subject to a series of overnight closures in the week preceding the weekend.

The northbound carriageway will be closed between 8am and 6am on the night of Monday June 30. The southbound carriageway will close at the same time on the night of Wednesday July 2. Both carriageways will close throughout the weekend, when the M11/A11 spur is also closed.

Traffic heading north will go on to Junction 10 before being diverted along the A505. Southbound traffic will follow the diversion in reverse.

The Highways Agency has advised drivers to allow for extra time when using the stretch of road when the closures are in place.
