M11 reopened after lorry fire causes road to be closed near Saffron Walden

The M11 was closed near Saffron Walden this morning due to a lorry on fire.

Police have closed the southbound carriageway between junction 10 at Duxford and junction 8 at Stansted.

Firefighters from Stansted, Newport, Saffron Walden and Great Dunmow were sent to the scene at 11.04am and arrived to find the whole of the lorry alight.

The fire was extinguished by 12.03pm.

Officers reopened the motorway by 12.55pm.
