The television company who produce MasterChef, Hunted and The Island are developing a new programme idea and they are looking for people from Saffron Walden to take part.

Shine TV, based in London, have made clear that because this is an idea in development, it will not require people to be on TV. They are researching the stories at the moment and wanting to speak to people in the appropriate situation.

The programme they are making is all about family and relationships and they are working with a DNA testing clinic to make a documentary following people as they go through the process of paternity, maternity, sibling or kinship (grandparent to grandchild) testing.

People get DNA tests for all sorts of reasons and the programme aims to explore the stories behind them in a non-judgmental way. Due to the sensitivity of the issue, Shine TV will be offering specialist counselling services to the individuals they eventually film with (for non-broadcast purposes only) and will also be covering the costs of the testing and other expenses.

If you need a DNA test and would like to take part, or require more information, email dna@shine.tv or call 0207 483 6742.
