Two people were hit by a car in Saffron Walden last night (Monday).

A man believed to be in his 70s and a woman thought to be in her 60s were struck by a car on the junction of High Street and Castle Street at 6.10pm.

The East of England Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle. The woman was treated for cuts to her head and hip pain and the man suffered back pain and cuts to his face.

Neither were seriously injured but were taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, for further treatment.
