A man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at a house near Stansted Airport.

On each of the three occasions, thieves allegedly forced their way into the property and stole clothes and electrical items during the nights of Sunday, February 16, Sunday, February 24 and Wednesday, March 5.

On Thursday, March 20, officers from the force’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit arrested a 39-year-old man at his home in the Great Dunmow area on suspicion of handling stolen goods. He has been released on police bail until Friday, April 18 pending further enquiries.

The man was identified by officers following information provided to Essex Police from The Sun on Sunday newspaper.

As a result of the information provided, a large quantity of suspected stolen property was recovered by police.
