A Takeley man has been charged with the theft of artefacts from museums in Essex and in London.
Daniel Johnson, 32, of Canfield Road, has been charged with burglary and theft at Stansted Mountfitchet Castle.
He has also been charged by Essex Police with three counts of theft, from the Maldon Combined Services Museum, Harlow Museum, and the Clink Museum in Southwark, London.
All the charges relate to offences which happened in March.
Johnson has been released on bail to appear before magistrates in Colchester on May 7.
