A MAN has suffered serious injuries to his head and body after being hit by a train at Stansted Mountfitchet rail station, last night (Thursday).
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police (BTP) said: “BTP officers attended the line near to Stansted Mountfitchet rail station on Thursday July 1 after a report of a man being struck by a train.
“BTP, Essex Police and the ambulance service attended the incident, which was reported at just before 10.50pm and is being treated as non-suspicious.
“The man, who is believed to be a 28-year-old from the Bishops Stortford area, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for serious injuries to the head and body.”
The train involved was the 9.55pm service from London Liverpool Street to Stansted Airport.
