Man in court after police officer is assaulted outside Stansted Airport
A MAN from north London is due to appear in court later this month after a police officer was assaulted outside Stansted Airport.
A MAN from north London is due to appear in court later this month after a police officer was assaulted outside Stansted Airport.
A roadside altercation took place on Bassingbourne Road shortly after 10pm on Monday July 19 when a male police officer, who is based at the airport, was thrown into the path of an oncoming lorry which then struck the off-duty officer.
The 39-year-old officer sustained an injury to his wrist as a result of the incident.
A 23-year-old man from Enfield was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with one count of assaulting a police officer and three counts of resisting arrest.

He has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Harlow Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday July 28.
