Man rescued off roof of Indian restaurant in Stansted, then arrested on suspicion of burglary

A man suspected of burglary had to be lifted off the roof of an Indian restaurant by a cherry picker in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Police were contacted after reports of a person on the roof of the building on Station Road in Stansted at 5.20am.
Essex Fire Service was also called to the scene, and rescued the 21-year-old man with the help of a cherry picker.
The man, of no fixed address, was then arrested on suspicion of burglary shortly before 7am, and is currently in custody.
