To help stop the threatened closure of the United Reformed Church in Whittlesford, Father Christmas has agreed to make a rare pre-Christmas appearance at the annual church fair on Saturday.
Starting at 10am the event will feature numerous stalls and crafts plus a spectacular array of pre-loved jewellery and delicious refreshments.
The venue is opposite the new children’s play area in Whittlesford with easy parking nearby.
The church is well used, with a popular coffee morning, pensioners lunch and a fully attended over 70s pilates group who have just started pole dancing. Despite these activities, the congregation is diminishing every year and there are plans afoot to close this church which has proved to be a pivotal influence on the village for decades.
Father Christmas hopes to meet lots of new faces and attract the next generation of participants.
