MEET Thaxted Parish Council's newest recruit.
Sue Stockle was appointed as a councillor at a full council meeting last month, filling the gap left by Richard Hingston, who resigned in November.
Cllr Stockle previously stood for election in July. After missing out on a handful of votes then, the mum of two - who has lived in the village for 17 years - is delighted to be on board.
She said: "I fell in love with Thaxted the moment I moved here - I love the community feeling here.
"I got involved with the council about a year ago because I needed to ask a particular question - at the time I was frustrated at not getting an answer as a member of the public so I started attending parish council meetings and then stood for election in July.
"I missed out then but I'm here now. In the last nine months the council has really moved forward and is better engaging with residents."
