The 1950s was the theme of this Primary Arts Festival, which involved nearly 300 Year 6 primary school pupils from 10 schools in Uttlesford.
Ashdon, Chrishall, Dame Bradbury’s, Great Chesterford, Henham & Ugley, Katherine Semar, RA Butler, Radwinter, St Mary’s and St Thomas More were the schools involved, with eight offering creative workshops featuring DT, IT, Art, Outdoors DT, Dance, Drama and Music.
The children had the chance to choose a workshops and school to attend, and many took the opportunity to visit a different school to their own, and to try their hand at something new.
At the end of the festival, held on Tuesday, parents and carers were invited in to see what the children had been working on.
Dame Bradbury’s headteacher Jane Crouch, who organised the event, said: “The festival is a great opportunity for local Year 6 children to come together and the ‘show and tell’ sessions at the end of the day were testament to the energy and enthusiasm they had put into their work.”
