The event started and finished at the village hall in Wendens Ambo, and more than £1,200 has already been raised for the Arthur Rank Hospice, with money still coming in.

Participants had the opportunity to choose from a 3k or 8k route, with close on 20 people taking on the longer walk.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments were served. and a cake stall and raffle were also held.

David’s widow, Anne Gibson, said: “The weather was very kind to us again, and everyone enjoyed walking in the sunshine. Last year we raised £1,316 so I am hopeful we can get over that mark by the time all the money has come in.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their support with the event, and for all the generous donations we received for the raffle. The day was a great success again.”

More than £12,000 has been raised for charity since the first memorial walk in 2005.
