YEAR 11 pupils at Saffron Walden County High School recently had the chance to interview MP Sir Alan Haselhurst as part of their GCSE Citizenship assessments.
The town’s Tory MP answered questions from the students on various topics including Britain’s place in the EU, the Euro currency, paid work for prisoners, and the death penalty.
A school spokesman said: “The pupils confidently put forward their own opinions, developing their skills of advocacy and representation of citizenship issues and were very grateful to Sir Alan Haselhurst for giving up his time.”
