ANCIENT Egypt was brought to life for the children who attended an event at Saffron Walden Library during Half Term.
Almost 100 children posed for photographs with Egyptian royalty, explored the mysteries of mummies and Pharaohs, went on a treasure trail, and got the chance to examine some artefacts supplied by Saffron Walden Museum.
Ruth Stickley, enquiry officer at the library, hailed the fun event as a success. She said: "Ancient Egypt is a fascinating subject and it proved to be a really popular day which drummed up lots of support.
"Hopefully we can do something some events like it."
The theme for Saffron Walden Library's summer reading challenge will be 'Quest Seekers'. The event runs from July 18 to September 5.
