THIS September will see a new headteacher start at Friends’ Junior School.
Ruth Darvill will take up the headship from Andrew Homes, who begins his retirement after 12 years in the post.
Mrs Darvill is moving to Saffron Walden from St Albans High School where she is currently head of pre-prep.
She visited the school last week when pupils moved up to their new class for September, which gave her the opportunity to meet new and current parents and pupils during the afternoon.
She said: “I am really excited about starting and working with the children and parents at Friends’. I am looking forward to making the most of these fantastic new facilities and working in partnership with the community.”
Mrs Darvill, who is moving to the area, has a three-year-old daughter who will be attending Friends’ Nursery in September.
