OUR hectic lifestyles combined with a constant battle with the stresses and strains of everyday life can leave us run down and worn out.
Spending as little as one hour a month having a holistic treatment can help us to achieve a sense of well-being and lead a healthier lifestyle, says award-winning therapist Christine Charters-Young.
"I treat people who have very stressful jobs and who have been transformed by regular sessions of reflexology and acupressure massage," she said.
"The treatments I am offering in Saffron Walden can help people to maintain their general well-being so they stay healthier for longer and often recover more quickly when they feel ill.
"For someone in general good health then just one session a month can be enough to make a significant difference."
Christine has been practising in the Cambridgeshire area since 2006 and runs a successful clinic near Newmarket called The Healing House. She has now expanded her service to include Saffron Walden where she will hold regular Monday morning appointments, at The Saffron Walden Osteopathic Clinic on Debden Road.
Specialising in reflexology, reiki, acupressure massage and relaxation techniques, Christine works with both adults and children including babies from two weeks old, using special Gentle Touch therapies.
"Acupressure massage is a deeply relaxing massage" she said. "Gentle acupressure techniques and slow sweeping movements are applied to the face, scalp, neck and shoulders to help release muscle tension and relieve anxiety, headaches and eye strain.
"Reflexology is performed on the feet and encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. It is a gentle non-invasive massage which has shown to be effective in providing pain relief. Reflexology can help improve many chronic and acute conditions including IBS, poor circulation, fatigue and stress.
"Children of all ages, from babies upwards, are very receptive to the benefits of reflexology," said Christine. Treatments can work to relax a child, strengthen their immune system and ease symptoms of teething, colic, hyperactivity and sleep disturbances.
To maximise the effectiveness of treatments Christine also offers an extensive range of natural products based on organically grown Aloe Vera. Suitable for children and those with sensitive skin.
Prices are from £20. An initial consultation lasting 1hr 30 minutes costs £50 and includes a 1 hour treatment. Follow-up appointments are usually for 1 hour.
The clinic is held between 9am and 1pm every Monday. To book an appointment with Christine call The Saffron Walden Osteopathic Clinic on 01799 524628. For more information visit Christine's website at www.thehealing-house.com.
