A whopping 155 kilos of food was delivered to Uttlesford Food Bank after the Harvest Festival assembly at St Mary’s Primary School Newport.
The assembly began with tea and coffee and harvest songs, followed by a short talk by Alan Hawkes from the food bank about its work. A closing address was given by Reverend Neil McLeod from St Mary’s Church.
Headteacher Sharon Lester said: “The food was given by pupils, parents, governors and staff. The food bank said it was an exceptional amount.”
