Students will be putting on their best Queen impressions for a theatrical production of We Will Rock You.
Pupils at The Joyce Frankland Academy in Newport will take to the stage on Wednesday night for their first performance, with more following Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm, plus a matinee on Saturday at 2pm.
Among the cast are Nicholas Carsberg, 16, and 15-year-old Lydia McGrath (pictured). Both are taking on lead roles in a school play for the first time.
Lydia, who will be showcasing her extensive vocal prowess by playing Scaramouche, previously attended Bishop’s Stortford Musical Theatre Company and has performed in Bugsy Malone, Oklahoma!, The Boyfriend, Grease and West Side Story.
Nicholas, who plays Galileo, attends a theatre school in Dunmow every weekend and has performed at the 02 Arena in London. Both Lydia and Nicholas would like to further a career in musical theatre.
