CHILDREN at Newport Primary School celebrated the Harvest festival and raised money for charity.
A non-uniform day with a theme of food and farming was held in support of children's charity, Barnardos.
Teachers and pupils all entered into the spirit of Harvest thanksgiving by dressing up as everything from bananas to Land Girls.
Headteacher Jane Detnon said: "The Harvest assembly is one of the children's favourite, but this year we decided that rather than follow the traditional harvest festival thanksgiving route and ask for produce to donate locally, we would ask the children to make a contribution for the privilege of not wearing school uniform to go to help children less fortunate than themselves.

"The food and farming theme really helped the children appreciate where their food comes from and how fortunate they really are".
