FOLLOW the yellow brick road all the way to the fantastic Emerald city as Newport Free Grammar School presents The Wizard of Oz.
There are Munchkins, witches, a Scarecrow, a Tinman and a Cowardly Lion who all join Dorothy on her journey to the Emerald city to seek the wizard and find her way home.
The set has been designed and built by talented sixth form student Izzie Davison, the play is directed by head of Drama Raeesa Aniff, and features a talented cast of 50 students ranging from Year 7 to 13.
NFGS has produced the performance entirely in-house, with students designing and rigging lights and for the first time, they will be running the show.
It runs this Friday and Saturday at 7.30pm, with a special child-friendly matinee at 2pm on Saturday afternoon. Tickets are £8 and £6 concession with special under 11 tickets for the matinee at £2. These are all available from the school bursar, Jeanne Drake on 01799 540237.
