NHS West Essex chairman re-appointed for further term
NHS West Essex chairman Alan Tobias OBE has been re-appointed for a further four-year term, to serve until September 30 2014.
NHS West Essex chairman Alan Tobias OBE has been re-appointed for a further four-year term, to serve until September 30 2014.
He is a qualified solicitor, former London boroughs chief executive and latterly chairman of an IT company.
Mr Tobias, who lives in Buckhurst Hill was, for six years, Chairman of Essex Probation Service, a board member of Springboard Housing Association as well as trustee to two Charitable Trusts.
He said: “I am delighted to have been re-appointed as chairman of NHS West Essex.

The appointment is made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments’ Code of Practice. He receives �34,152 per annum.
All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees political activity (if any declared) to be made public.
Mr Tobias has declared no political activity in the last five years and has declared no ministerial appointments.
West Essex PCT covers the Epping Forest, Harlow, Uttlesford areas and is responsible for commissioning local health services and improving the health of the local population.
The PCT manages services for older people, community nursing and community clinics. It works closely with GPs, dental practices, pharmacists and optometrists.
