NINE men from all over the region have been charged with violent disorder in relation to the illegal rave in Great Chesterford in August 2006.

The men, aged between 18 and 40, will face magistrates in Chelmsford on tomorrow (Friday).

They are: a 22-year-old from King's Lynn; a 40-year-old from Colchester; a 19-year-old from Kavenham, Suffolk; two men aged 21 and 25 from Leyton Buzzard; a 22-year-old from Norwich; an 18-year-old from Biggleswade; a 19-year-old from Wyboston, Bedfordshire; and a 21-year-old from Baldock.

The men are all facing charges following a rave in Great Chesterford on August 25, 2006, when police clashed with as many as 600 revellers as they tried to shut down the event.
