A NEW pop music school for children opened for business in Saffron Walden this week.
Clive's Easylearn Pop Music School is believed to be the first part-time pop school in the town.
The school is owned and operated as a franchise by Simon Baker and Andy Wilwon from Bishop's Stortford, and aims to offer a unique brand of simplified pop and rock music training in guitar, bass, keyboards and drums.
The weekly sessions also gives customers the chance to play together in pop and rock bands from the start of their courses.
Network director Clive Brooks said "We've done away with boring theory and made music-making simple, fun and direct. Our courses are unique.
"Tutors love them because they're easy to teach, and customers love them because they're easy to understand."

Simon Baker said: "I went to junior school in the town and was also in my first band here, so I know that Saffron Walden has a healthy music scene.
"We want to bring some of that creativity to a younger generation. We hope to do that with this exciting new concept."
Clive's Easylearn Pop Music School opened at the Friends Meeting House on High Street on Monday, with former Iron Maiden guitarist Dennis Stratton lending his experience to some of the children.
The school is open every Monday night for children from the age of seven. Free trial sessions are available.
