Bell Day Nursery has donated a total of £5,000 to five charities in the Saffron Walden area.
The nursery, based in Peaslands Road, is handing £1,000 each to The Laughter Specialists, Saffron Walden Youth Outreach, Sophie's Fund, Uttlesford Children's Clothing Bank and Uttlesford Food Bank.
It is a registered Community Interest Company which means it is committed to making donations to organisations in the area as well as employing local staff where possible.
The nursery, currently rated "outstanding" by Ofsted, was established in the late 1980s by parents of the Bell Language School, and later taken over by senior members of staff.
Gina Owers, manager at the nursery said: "We provide high quality childcare with a homely, family atmosphere as well as a safe, supportive environment where children can thrive.
"The nursery is very happy to be able to help and support local charities because we are very much part of the community."
