CHIEF officer of the Essex Special Constabulary Leon Dias has said a “well done” to the special constables who have volunteered to work as the Torch Relay visits Essex today and Saturday.
Over 80 special constables have volunteered to work. Those in Colchester had a very early briefing at 5am this morning but then enjoyed the event despite the rain.
Chief officer Dias said: “The officers are very proud to be involved in what is a historic event for Essex and delighted to be working for their community.”
