SAFFRON Walden Skate Group this week launched an appeal for talented performers and street dancers to take part in an innovative event to be staged at the skate park on May 19.
SKOPERA - a part skating, part musical performance extravaganza - will be the culmination of the Giant Creature’s visit to Saffron Walden, which is part of Essex County Council’s Cultural Olympics event in the town.
The Skate Group is working with professional theatre company Hyperfusion and the organisers are looking for talented individuals to be a part of it.
Sarah Ellis, Hyperfusion’s artistic director, said: “It is a real opportunity to see the creative talent that exists in this town and we’re hoping lots of young people will come forward and get involved.”
Anyone interested in participating should email sarah@hyperfusion.co.uk and join the costume workshop on Saturday April 14 at 3pm at the skate park. Participants must be over 13 years of age and able to commit to four rehearsals on April 21 and 28, May 5 and 12.
