AN ELDERLY man with complications after recent surgery had to be carried out of a first floor window by firefighters.
A crew from Thaxted and an aerial platform from Harlow were called to assist Ambulance paramedics in removing the man from his cottage in Little Sampford so that he could be taken back to hospital.
The casualty, believed to be in his sixties, had an open wound and could not be carried safely downstairs.
Just after 4.30pm on Tuesday firefighters removed the first floor window and working with paramedics brought the man out to a waiting ambulance.
