Emergency services called to reports of person being struck by a train at Stansted Mountfitchet

Police were called to reports of a person being struck by a train between Stansted Airport and Bishop's Stortford this afternoon.
Paramedics, police and an air ambulance attended the scene at Stansted Mountfitchet station.
Greater Anglia has warned that all lines are blocked until further notice and disruption is expected until 5pm.
A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: “Passengers are advised that Great Northern and London Underground are accepting tickets until further notice. We’d like to apologise to any customers affected by delays as a result and remind them that they can claim delay repay compensation for delays more than 30 minutes.”
Stansted Express said services are terminating and starting at Bishop’s Stortford until further notice and they are currently sourcing buses for onwards travel to Stansted Airport and Stansted Mountfitchet.
It has since been established by police and paramedics that the incident was a near miss.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Paramedics and colleagues from Essex Police also attended, and thankfully it was established this incident was a near miss. The person is in a place of safety and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.”
