SOME exciting births and hatchings have given visitors an extra special treat at Linton Zoo.
Zoo manager Kim Simmons said the tourist attraction has enjoyed a “fantastic breeding season” of some of its animals, with the youngsters starting to get out and about.
Most of the owl species have hatched and reared youngsters, and in May a very rare white-collared lemur was born – the only birth in captivity this year.
Both the parma and the red necked wallaby joeys are bounding around their enclosures and the zoo’s female red kangaroo also has a baby in the pouch which was seen poking its head out for the first time just last week.
The zoo is open daily from 10am to 6pm. Admission fees are 9 per adult and 6.50 per child (2-13 years). For information visit lintonzoo.com call 01223 891308, e-mail lintonzoo@hotmail.co.uk.
