The inclement weather did nothing to deter those who turned out for the first Friends’ School Summer Fete on Saturday.
The climbing wall, inflatable jousting and Pimms tent were favourites among the crowds, and once the rain subsided, the welly wanging proved a popular competition for both adults and children.
The fete, organised by Friends’ School PTA, was held on the fields of the school and saw the wider community enjoy an afternoon of activities, competitions and games.
Grateful to the PTA for putting on such a successful fete, head of Friends’ School, Anna Chaudhri said: “It was great to see the crowds getting into the swing of the event in spite of the odd shower.
“I would like to say a sincere thank you to all the people who helped to make the fete a great success, including parents, teachers, children, those who donated prizes and gifts and of course those who attended and gave generously on the day.”
