Picture gallery: Uttlesford charities receive support from county council funds

A community outdoor growing project in Little Canfield, Takeley and Dunmow is among the projects given a boost in the latest round of grants from the Essex Millennium Fund and Essex County Council’s Chairman’s Fund.
Grants totalling more than £67,000 were presented to 22 Essex-based charities and voluntary organisations at a ceremony held at the Essex Record Office.

Other organisations based in the Broadcast area to benefit in the grants were:
• Fledglings Family Services received £3,000 to support the costs of a telephone help-line supporting families with disabled children.
• Crossroads Care East Anglia received £3,500 to run a young adult carers service in Uttlesford.
Friends of the Flitchway and Association Woodlands also received £3,000 to refurbish a railway carriage as a community resource at Rayne Station.

The two funds, managed by the independent charitable trust Essex Community Foundation (ECF), give ongoing support for initiatives to enhance the lives of people living in Essex.
