Appeal for witnesses after allegation of assault near M11 services

Police are appealing for witnesses following reports of an assault at Birchanger services roundabout on the M11 on January 5.
The victim, aged in her 60s, had been in a minor collision with another car in the lead up to the services.
She gestured for her car to be followed into the station so that they could exchange details.
The driver of the other car, a silver Volvo, followed her into the road leading up to the petrol station and stopped the car. Once they were both out of their cars, the driver of the Volvo allegedly assaulted her by grabbing her.
The man then left in an unknown direction.
He has been described as a white man, potentially aged in his 50. He was bald, wore glasses and, according to the victim, spoke with an Eastern European accent.
The incident occurred between 7.45pm and 8pm.
Anyone who witnessed the assault, or who may have been driving past at the time and has dash cam footage available to view, is asked to call the Uttlesford Local Policing Team on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/2860/19.
