Officers investigating the theft of a cash machine from Nisa in Newport have found the vehicle it’s believed may have been used by those responsible.

A white Toyota Hilux was found burnt out in a field between Hatley and Gamlingay in Cambridgeshire at around 3pm yesterday.

An ATM machine was found on the back of the vehicle.

It is believed the vehicle may have been left there and set on fire at around 3.30am on the same day.

A JCB digger was driven into the front of Nisa in Newport shortly after 1.20am.

An ATM was removed from the wall and it is believed it was put on the back of a white Toyota Hilux which then left the scene towards Wickham Road.

The digger, which is thought to have been stolen from a nearby farm, was left at the scene.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw a white Hilux in the area between 1.30am and 3.30am to call us on 101 quoting the crime reference number 42/139010/18 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
