Police are investigating a burlary in Gibson Close, Saffron Walden, where jewellery, money and clothing was stolen. A window was smashed at the house.

The investigation is continuing after two men were seen wearing hoodied tops and carrying items including bags and rope.

A woman called police after she saw the men in Saxon Way, carrying bags and climbing over a garden fence, in the town at 1pm. A search with the police helicopter on Monday (May 18) failed to find them. The men are white, aged in their early 20s and were wearing dark clothes including hooded tops.

One had short, wavy light coloured hair, was about 6ft tall and of slim build. He was clean shaven and had a local accent.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
