TWO burglaries in Newport on Friday (March 28) are being linked by police.
The first happened in London Road between 11.50am and 12.15pm, when burglars forced their way into a house through its rear patio doors. Nothing was stolen, but £200 damage was done in the incident.
The second happened in Bowker Close between 10am and 3.20pm. After causing £200 damage by breaking through the house's back door, burglars stole £1000 worth of jewellery including pearl earrings, a gold chain with a cross and a pair of 18-carat gold Victorian hooped earrings.
