ESSEX Police is searching for volunteers to carry out front office duties and assist behind the scenes.

Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) will work in the stations at Saffron Walden, Dunmow, Stansted and Hatfield Heath.

A police spokesman said: "The concept of VIPs will see volunteers being assigned to police station front office duties and other roles considered acceptable for voluntary work, such as providing support for neighbourhood policing teams, community support officers and specials."
