Police seek man who changed clothes in Saffron Walden Ridgeons theft

Two CCTV images of a man police want to speak to in connection with a theft from a Saffron Walden builders merchants have been released.

A man wearing a blue v-neck t-shirt, torn blue jeans and black trainers went into Ridgeons in Ashdon Road at around 11.45am on April 13.

He allegedly picked up a Paslode nail gun and placed it on the floor next to a post before leaving the premises.

The man then returned to Ridgeons later in different clothes – this time wearing a grey top and a navy blue baseball cap.

He picked up the nail gun and left the Ashdon Road store, making no effort to pay.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured is asked to contact Pc Mark Gatwood on 101.
