From April, 1 the old non emergency number 0345 will be switched off and all non-emergencies in Cambridgeshire will have to be reported by calling 101.

To remind residents of the new number and the impending demise of the old one police officers and staff from Cambridgeshire police will run, skip or hop 101 miles - round HQ building and the field - to raise money for Sport Relief.

Volunteers, totalling 101, from across the force will give up their lunch hour on Friday, March 23 to take part in the fundraiser at police headquarters, in Huntingdon.

Like the 0345 the 101 number will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The calls, from landlines and mobile networks, will cost 15 pence per call - whatever time of day or duration of call.
