Thousands of passengers have been facing delays in the Christmas getaway, after a power outage this afternoon (Monday) at Stansted Airport.
Power has now been restored, and flights are operating, with a delay of around an hour.
The main terminal and runway were unaffected by the power failure, said a spokesman for the airport, but there was a temporary loss of power in satellite buildings and the track transit passenger system were affected, though travellers were taken to the terminal by bus.
The spokesman added: “There will be an investigation to establish exactly what happened. We are working hard to get operation at airport back to normal.”
