QUIRKY competitors are being urged to put their best feet forward as Finchingfield Cricket Club hosts its popular annual Three-Legged Race on Sunday – and it will be “bigger and better” than ever say organisers.

Participants have to complete the course around the village, crossing the bridge twice and drinking in the three village pubs: The Fox Inn, Red Lion, and Three Tuns.

Paul Denman, the club’s chairman, said: “Previous races have been extremely popular and new runners are welcome and can raise money on behalf of their chosen good cause or charity. The support of The Fox Inn, Red Lion and Three Tuns is much appreciated, without which we wouldn’t have an event. And we’d love to hear from any local groups who would like a stall.”

Organisers are expanding the event this year with stalls and diversions on the green, starting from 1pm.

Spaces can be booked by contacting club secretary Damon Knight on 07932019474 or e-mail damon@finchingfield.plus.com for more information and a registration form.
